Finding What Matters and Your Goals
What you hold dear, and why
This sheet asks what truly matters to you, and why it matters.
The answer space is left wide open, so you can write it out or draw it.
Along the bottom, three low boxes let you set childhood, now, and twenty years from now side by side to compare.
How it works
- Read the question at the top, and fill the wide space with whatever comes to mind.
- In the three boxes below, write what was precious to you as a child, what is precious now, and what will become precious twenty years from now.
- Read the three boxes side by side and see what has stayed and what has changed.
- Finally, feel free to jot down one direction for today, just a small note.
When · with whom
This is an activity to do sitting quietly on your own. It helps to bring it out when a new year begins or before you make a choice.
Three points in time to compare
- As a child — the me back then
- Now — the me right now
- 20 years from now — the future me
- After your answers, jot down one small direction for today.
