Strega Comanda Colore · A game of finding the color the witch calls out
An Italian game where you race to find the color the witch calls out
This is Strega Comanda Colore, an outdoor game of Italian children. It means “the witch commands a color.”
When the witch calls out a color, you have to find that color nearby and touch it. If you get caught before you touch it, you become the next witch.
The sheet includes a picture of the game in action, the steps for playing, and a QR code for finding a video.
How it works
- The player who's “it” becomes the witch and calls out a color: “Strega comanda colore… red!”
- Everyone looks around for that color, runs to it, and touches it with their hand. The color of a friend's clothes counts, too.
- If the witch catches someone before they touch the color, that person becomes the next witch.
