The “Way Back” that isn't on any map
There's a road in the village that isn't on the map, and people call it the “Way Back.”
This activity gives you only that name and leaves the rest blank.
We've left it open so that wherever you go, you don't have to come back.
How it works
- Read the two sentences at the top, then start writing from the scene where you step onto that road.
- You don't need to settle the map first. The road appears as you write.
- With several people, take turns writing a line each and lead one another somewhere unexpected.
- Keep writing through the second sheet, and stop at the last line.
When · with whom
It's lovely for a child and a grown-up to write together. On your own, the road can stretch on as far as you like.
