Ampe · A Game of Claps and Feet
A game decided by one clap and one foot
A street game that children in Ghana play at every break time.
You don't need a ball or a board, just clapping hands and feet.
The sheet gives the game's name, its country, and the steps for playing.
How it works
- Stand facing each other and play rock-paper-scissors to decide who is "it".
- At the same time, clap once and thrust one foot forward.
- If the same foot comes out as "it", "it" scores a point; if it's a different foot, the other player scores a point.
- The first to score five points wins.
When · with whom
Two players are enough, and it gets even livelier when a bigger group takes turns. It works in a tight space, too.
