Parents, in Writing
A conversation that tangles easily when spoken
This is a conversation shared by taking turns writing, without speaking.
This sheet is about “parents.” Add a voice and the conversation tangles fast, but kept only in writing, what each of you says stays there to the end.
How it works
- Agree not to say anything out loud.
- Start at ① and read in order, then take turns writing one line each in the left and right columns.
- Wait while the other person writes, without hurrying them along.
- Once you've both finished, read it all together from the beginning.
When · with whom
It's for two people sitting face to face. It works whether you share the same parents or are talking about each other's.
Three questions about "parents"
- When you think of your parents, what scene comes first?
- Is there something you didn't understand then but see differently now?
- If there are words you haven't yet said to them, what are they?
