A First for Today
A one-week journal for noting something you did for the first time today
It's a journal where, at the end of the day, you write down one thing you did for the first time today.
It takes the day-by-day structure of Three Lines in the Morning and Gratitude Before Sleep and carries it over into the spirit of “firsts”.
It doesn't have to be anything big or grand. Walking a road you've never taken, or saying hello first, is plenty.
How it works
- Before you fall asleep, think of one thing you did for the first time today.
- Write it in that day's box, in three lines or fewer. You can even add why you did it and how it went.
- If you write the date in the date box, you'll see how things flowed when you look back later.
- On days when nothing comes to mind, it's fine to leave it blank.
When · with whom
It's a journal you keep on your own. It's an especially good fit when your days have all been feeling the same lately.
